Team-Manager Werner Daemen confirms his rider allocation for the upcoming SUPERBIKE*IDM season. Lukas Trautmann (AUT), Danny de Boer (NED) and Jan Bühn (GER) will compete the 2017 season on BMW S 1000 RR in the International German Superbike Championship. Proceedings with promising candidate Pepijn Bijsterbosch.

Lukas Trautmann

With 20-year old Lukas Trautmann the official customer racing team of BMW Motorrad Motorsport signs the current Endurance World Cup Champion and former Yamaha R6-Dunlop Cup winner. For Trautmann it´s the first time to ride a BMW S 1000 RR and he already had the chance to do a few laps during a component comparison test at Circuito de Almeria (Spain) in November.

Dany de Boer

Danny de Boer will also switch manufacturer to ride the S 1000 RR of Van Zon-Remeha-BMW in the upcoming 2017 SUPERBIKE*IDM season. The reigning IDM Superstock 1000 Champion – who also secured his fourth title in the Dutch Superbike Championship in 2016 and took part as a replacement in the Dutch round of FIM STK 1000 Cup – will join the IDM Superbike squad of Werner Daemen. Impressively, de Boer won 10 out of 16 races in the past Superstock IDM season.

Manager Daemen will additionally go into extra time with Jan Bühn for SUPERBIKE*IDM 2017. After winning the IDM Supersport category in 2015 and third place in the overall standigs of IDM Superstock 1000 in 2016, Bühn will ride into his second season with Van Zon-Remeha-BMW. The 25-year old rider from Kronau (Germany) will tie on to this year´s strong performance.

General Manager Werner Daemen:

„I am happy to confirm Lukas Trautmann, Danny de Boer and Jan Bühn to ride for Van Zon-Remeha-BMW in the 2017 SUPERBIKE*IDM season. Lukas is a very young and talented rider and I think he will achieve good results on our BMW S 1000 RR. During the last years Lukas showed his potential and with a matching environment he can surely fight for constant podium positions. That also applies for Danny. Together with his team he achieved an outstanding season 2016 and deservedly won the SST championship. Jan will compete his second season with Van Zon-Remeha-BMW. He adapted very fast from Supersport to the Superbike category and did great races. I am sure he will keep the trend up into his second SBK season.“

Lukas Trautmann:

„My 2016 season wasn´t as good as expected and so I´m very happy to make a big step in the right direction to move into Werner Daemens team. To me a familiar environment is very important and, according to what I know, Van Zon-Remeha-BMW is the right choice for me. I already had the chance to get to know the S 1000 RR and I am very impressed by the performance – it´s a cool bike and it feels great. My goal for next season is, of course, the best possible result and my target is a top-3 ranking.“

Danny de Boer:

„I am really happy to start for Van Zon-Remeha-BMW in 2017. In the past they have shown really good results. The BMW is completely new for me but I see this as a great challenge and opportunity. A big advantage is that I can continue working with my mechanic and data engineer from last year, so they know what I need to ride fast. Last but not least, I´m very much looking forward to working with Werner. He was a very fast rider himself in the past and I believe in his point of view around the track. This can only help us as riders to get fast. I am ready to fight for podiums in 2017.”

Jan Bühn:

„I´m very glad to be again part of the team for the next season. Therefore, I want to express my appreciation to Werner Daemen, BMW Motorrad and my long time sponsor Georg Räth. The team is working very professionally and the team´s atmosphere is perfect. It was my absolute priority to continue with Van Zon-Remeha-BMW. In 2016 we were able to show good races and we achieved P3 overall in the Superstock category. We want to build up on this performance. We know our weaknesses to improve for being on the top spot. The team is working really hard and I will definitely use the winter time to make a proper preparation for the upcoming SUPERBIKE*IDM season.”
